Allow 1cm variance for all garment measurements (as an example a 56cm garment measurement has a variance of 55-57cm. Please factor that into deciding on the size to order.)

Three easy steps to ordering the right size:
STEP 1:
You will need the following items:
• Measuring tape
• A flat surface (such as a table or counter)
• A notepad and pen
• An item of clothing from your wardrobe that fits comfortably and is a similar style to the one you wish to purchase
STEP 2:
Referring to the images above, place your garment on a flat surface and record the following measurements:
A. 1/2 Waist: Measure across the top of the waistband from corner to corner.
B. Front Rise: Measure from the top of the front waistband to the crotch seam;
C. Inside Leg: Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg hem.
STEP 3:
Compare your measurements with our size chart and order the size closest to those measurements. 1/2 Waist is usually the most important measurement if you are in a hurry, but checking all three will make for the most comfortable fit.
TIP: If you do not have a measuring tape, use your credit card. The long side of a credit card measures 8.5cm and the short side is 5.4cm. Simply use the centimetre measurements on our chart and divide by 8.5cm to get an idea of how many credit card lengths equals the measurement you are recording.

These trouser legs marry protection and comfort with the convenience of Rufiji™ MaraTech™ Zip-Off Safari Trousers – the garment that gives you trousers and shorts in one to save on space and weight when packing. We decided to design these separate trouser legs in water-resistant, anti-insect BUGTech+™ fabric for additional defence on walks and evenings outdoors. Simply zip off and add a new feature to these popular safari and outdoor trousers. Stay dry and comfortable on dewy early morning walks, through muddy and wet terrain, or on fishing trips and enjoy peace of mind that your clothing is working for you to reduce the chance of bites on your vulnerable legs and ankles.
Perfectly paired with the MaraTech™ Zip-Off Safari Trousers, the shorts section will continue to wick moisture away from your skin – keeping you dry and cool – whilst the leg section (where you do not sweat) will keep your legs dry and most insects at bay. Of course, we recommend that you use a good dose of our Australian-made insect repellent to prevent tick and insect bites for overall defence.
In addition to these features, BUGTech+™ fabric also has built-in SPF50+, releases creasing quickly (another great feature for packing), and is quick to dry after washing, meaning these convertible legs can be worn time and again outdoors, for travel, and on safari. These zip-off legs also come in a water-resistant bag for your convenience. These legs have red zips for easy identification of your BUGTech+™ trouser legs when washing and packing.
Product note Rufiji™ MaraTech™ Zip-Off Safari Trousers are trousers and shorts in one garment. Simply zip off the legs to convert your trousers to shorts with ease. Please note that these are the interchangeable leg section only and the Rufiji™ MaraTech Zip-Off Safari Trousers are sold separately.
Before jumping on the anti-insect clothing bandwagon, we wanted to be 100% sure our clients were receiving products that actually worked. Our primary concern was to develop the best possible anti-insect finish and have it tested independently to ensure that it actually worked. In the evolution from MaraTech™ to BUGTech™ and BUGTech+™ fabric, we needed to know that the benefits of our MaraTech™ fabric were not lost or hindered in any way.
Many other brands forego this testing and rely on intensive marketing campaigns to sell their garments. In developing the BUGTech™ fabric, we were guided by our new mantra for our Rufiji™ clothing range: "No marketing hype. Just the facts." In ensuring we could deliver a product that performs, we undertook to put our garments through thorough in-house and independent tests.
The BUGTech+™ legs for the Zip-Off Safari Trousers have been proven in independent tests by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) Pesticide Trial Section to repel most insects. We know of no other manufacturer willing to publish their results. Please see the test results in the images above.
The active ingredient in our BUGTech™ fabric is permethrin which is used at the ultra low dosage of 500ppm. Permethrin is a man-made version of a natural insect repellent found in certain Chrysanthemum plants. BUGTech™ utilises a proprietary permethrin formula to provide odourless insect defence.
In addition to affording defence from a host of biting insects including mosquitoes, flies, bed-bugs, fleas, and midges, BUGTech™ also inhibits odour-causing bacteria and fabric degradation.

⊙ SPF50+: The Sun Protection Factor is a measure of the amount of the sun's ultraviolet rays that reach your skin. Our BUGTech+™ fabric will protect your skin from harmful sun exposure - in effect, sunblock for your clothing. This is the highest SPF rating we know of on a garment.
