Introduction:

Growing up in Rhodesia in the 1960s, Peter Godwin inhabited a magical and frightening world of leopard-hunting, lepers, witch doctors, snakes and forest fires. Such a fantastic and beautiful book – spanning the writer’s life. Starting with a typical African childhood and moving onto his adventures as a journalist during the war, this book shows this amazing country from two completely different lights.
