Please read the instructions below this size chart before ordering. We have indicated whether this size chart uses body or garment measurements in the notes below the size chart. Allow 1cm variance for all garment measurements (as an example a 56cm garment measurement has a variance of 55-57cm. Please factor that into deciding on the size to order.)

How to order the correct size Rufiji™ or Mara&Meru™ hat:

• To work out which hat will give you the most comfortable fit, simply measure your head at the fullest part where your hat will sit, which will be just above your ears. Please use this measurement to determine the size above. It is best to select a hat size which has an Inner Crown measurement slightly larger than your head size.
• Please note that only our leather hats will have a very small amount of stretch (approximately 1cm).
• As children's heads grow faster than their bodies, this size chart also applies to boys and girls.
• UK and US hat sizes given below are our approximates of the equivalent hat size in each country. Please leave the size chart in "cm" rather than "inches" to view these correctly.

⊙ UPF50+ protection as proven in an independent test by Intertek. All-canvas construction for full-hat UPF50+ protection. In the tests, Intertek found that the 'Mean Ultraviolet Protection Factor UPF' score for the hat came to 2,000; and the blocking percentage for the hat is 99.95% for both UV-A and UV-B. This exceeds the 98% threshold for UPF50 and so the rating for this hat is UPF50+. Please always back up the sun protection provided by your hat by using an effective sunscreen lotion or spray.

⊙ Hat Packing Advice: There are three packing options for when you travel with your hat.
• Option 1: The Adventurer Hat is made to be flat-packable and this is how we pack the hat when we travel. Place the hat flat into your luggage and make sure that the brim stays as flat as possible. The crown and sides are packed level with the brim. It is very important that no items crush the brim, nor the crown. Some creasing of the fabric may occur.
• Option 2: Fill the crown area of the hat with loose items of clothing, or a small travel towel, so that the crown area is full. This should help reduce any creasing to the crown area. You still need to pack the brim as flat as possible, and again make sure as far as possible that no other items crush the brim or crown area of the hat. A note for Option 1 and 2: While it is up to your personal preference, we do not mind if the canvas creases slightly when we travel with the Adventurer Hat as, over time, creasing reduces as you wear the hat. After all, the main purpose of the hat is to protect you from the sun, with the flat-pack function adding to the convenience of traveling with this hat. Our packing advice is advisory only and we are not responsible for damage caused to hats once packed.
• Option 3: If you are really worried about your hat creasing or being damaged when packed, then please carry the hat on your person when you travel and not in your luggage.
