Please read the instructions below this size chart before ordering. We have indicated whether this size chart uses body or garment measurements in the notes below the size chart. Allow 1cm variance for all garment measurements (as an example a 56cm garment measurement has a variance of 55-57cm. Please factor that into deciding on the size to order.)
To select cm (cm) or inches (in") please see the top left corner of the size chart table.
cm/ in" | XS | S | M | L | XL |

1/2 Chest | 45 cm | 47 cm | 49 cm | 51 cm | 53 cm |
Centre Back Length | 57.5 cm | 60.5 cm | 63.5 cm | 68 cm | 72.5 cm |
Sleeve Length | 50 cm | 54 cm | 58 cm | 60 cm | 62 cm |
Three easy steps to ordering the right size:
STEP 1:
You will need the following items:
• Measuring tape
• A flat surface (such as a table or counter)
• A notepad and pen
• An item of clothing from your wardrobe that fits comfortably and is similar to the one you wish to purchase (e.g. if you are looking at buying a collared shirt then use one of your own collared shirts to compare measurements to.)
TIP: If you do not own a similar fleece, then using a collared long sleeve shirt or jacket which is a comfortable fit will give you an idea of the size which will fit you the best.
STEP 2:
Referring to the images above, place your garment on a flat surface and record the following measurements:
A. 1/2 Bust/Chest: Measure across the front of the shirt from armpit to armpit.
B. Sleeve Overarm: Measure from the end of the cuff to the shoulder seam.
C. Centre Back Length: Measure from the nape of the neck on the back of the shirt to the bottom hem.
STEP 3:
Compare your measurements with our size chart and order the size closest to those measurements. Chest/bust is usually the most important measurement if you are in a hurry, but checking all three will make for the most comfortable fit.
TIP: If you do not have a measuring tape, use your credit card. The long side of a credit card measures 8.5cm and the short side is 5.4cm. Simply use the centimetre measurements on our chart and divide by 8.5cm to get an idea of how many credit card lengths equals the measurement you are recording.
Please note: If you are unsure about which size to order, please contact us before ordering and we will help you as best we can.

Introduction:
A warm layer is essential in Africa all year round. This bonded fleece will keep your child warm on early morning game drives, outdoor activities, or around the campfire on chilly safari nights.
Dressing for the conditions is one way to ensure the best safari experiences. Even though Africa can get very hot, it can also get very cold – no matter the season or the midday temperatures. On early morning and late evening game drives on the back of open Land Rovers, it can get especially cold. Much of Africa is also over 1 000 metres above sea level (the Masai Mara, for example, is at 1 500 metres - the height of many ski resorts in Europe) and this contributes to the morning and evening chill.
Wildlife tends to be more active in cooler conditions and so the hotter it is during the day, the earlier you will leave to search for wildlife. When it comes to family safaris, the focus should always be on the fun and adventure – and packing this children’s safari fleece jacket is one way to make sure the weather doesn’t get in the way of that.
This fleece is made to be warm and cosy in every way. This latest version of our children’s fleece is made from Rufiji™ double-bonded fleece with a tight weave. We sampled and tested this fleece until we were happy with its performance and feel. As a result of this, the SafariElite fleece has a tighter weave and is double-bonded for extra warmth and a soft feel. In a safari-appropriate colour, your children will love wearing this fleece in Africa – but also outdoors and on winter days.
The snugness of this fleece is enhanced by its adjustable waistband. The waist is elasticated and has an adjustable drawcord and toggle to trap warmth when it is cold and get the best fit out in the field. The cuffs of this fleece jacket are also elasticated to stop the chill creeping into sleeves. The full-length zip has a storm flap at the chin to further insulate the jacket for total warmth. The fleece-lined hand pockets are perfectly positioned to warm cold fingers – and they are zipped for keeping smaller belongings safe during activities.
You will need a fleece for the majority of safaris. Not convinced? Please read the quote below or contact us for advice and information:
"My husband did not procure one of your safari fleeces before we went and alluded to the fact whilst shivering on the back of a Land Rover on an early morning game drive that obviously you knew what you were talking about." R. Kneller, on safari in Botswana in October - one of the hottest times of the year in the Okavango Delta region!
