About the Wire Acacia Trees:

These unique trees are made from snare wire which was collected by anti-poaching units from various game reserves in Zululand, South Africa. We are creating something beautiful for you to purchase from something which was intended to harm wild animals indiscriminately. All proceeds from the sale of the trees then goes back to the game reserve for use in de-snaring programs, which in turn is made into SnareTrees to sell. The Safari Store covers the costs of collecting the snares and pays our inhouse wire artist, Simba, to turn the snares into trees.

The wire is heated on a fire to clean it and to make it easier to use.

Why Acacia trees? They represent Africa. They are always present on Safari and is often the only trees around to provide shade for the animals.

These beautifully crafted wire trees make ideal centerpieces for your dining room table.

By ordering one of these trees you are removing snare wire from game reserves as well as donating towards conservation. The profits made from these trees will go towards whatever is needed to protect our wildlife. We will also give a section of the profit to Simba, our very skilled artist who creates these trees!

About our YOUbuy, WEgive Campaign

About our YOUbuy, WEgive Campaign:
Products for the Pot: By buying this item you are helping us add funds to the Safari Impact pot. The funds collected by this campaign goes towards donating essential goods to game reserves and their surrounding communities.

About Safari Impact:
The operations and projects of our trust, Safari Impact, are governed by our slogan "Constructive | Community | Conservation". We aim to work closely with, and listen to, conservationists and community members on the ground to find out what is actually needed, not what we think is needed. Donating unwanted items may result in a smile and thank you, but it is worthless if it does not add value to the project. Our first major project has been to design and develop - and then send to Hluhluwe iMfolozi to test - the anti-poaching boots worn by the APU team. We are focusing on the small issues, hoping to influence bigger issues. By starting to improve the lives of those charged with guarding our natural heritage, perhaps we can.
