Introduction:

The traditional kikoy is plain-coloured in the middle and has a distinctive radiant border. These kikoys are made using the time-honoured design and are available in an assortment of vivid yarn colours.

Call it a kikoy, sarong, pareo, lava lava, or a lungi, these kikoys are made in the traditional African design and can be enjoyed by men and women. Rectangular in shape, kikoys make ideal beach cover-ups. Worn as a skirt, the ends of the kikoy are simply tucked in at the waist - no buttons, pins or hooks.

There are many uses for the kikoy wrap - from sarong to scarf, tablecloths to throws, beach-blankets to sun shields. It all depends on how creative you can be. All our 100% mercerised cotton kikoys are dyed and woven in Kenya and then hand-knotted to create the distinctive border, which adds to their individual appeal. This means that they have added strength and the colours are given added brightness. In addition to this, the thick weave makes this a more opaque sarong, making for comfortable wear as a skirt or dress. Available in a rainbow of colours and a choice of striped pattern or plain, a kikoy is undeniably a must-have travel and everyday accessory and their use is only limited by your imagination.
