Please read the instructions below this size chart before ordering. We have indicated whether this size chart uses body or garment measurements in the notes below the size chart. Allow 1cm variance for all garment measurements (as an example a 56cm garment measurement has a variance of 55-57cm. Please factor that into deciding on the size to order.)

Please read the information below before selecting your size to get the best fit & save on returns costs:
⊙ We have shown the Body measurement for the full chest in the size chart above. Body measurements are approximates.
⊙ For the Full Chest Body measurement measure around your body: under your arms and around the fullest part of your chest.
⊙ The Waist measurement matches the chest measurement for all sizes - apart from Small and Medium where the waist measurement is marginally less than the chest (about 2 cm less on the full waist measurement).

⊙ Garment Measurement: To assist you with choosing the right size, we have also included the garment measurements for the Half Chest for this shirt below. If you are not sure which size to order, we recommend checking both the body and garment measurements. If you are still not sure about your size please do contact us so we may assist you, before you order. It may also be a good idea to first place a smaller order to check on your size, and then place a larger order once you are sure of your size.

⊙ How to Measure the half chest garment measurement for this shirt:
-Select a long sleeve, button-up, collared shirt which you own and which is a good fit - and which looks similar in design to the shirt which you are ordering.
-Place the shirt flat on a table. The half chest measurement is made from the point where each sleeve meets the chest area of the shirt, across the front of the shirt, as shown on the image below.
-It is important that you gently pull the shirt flat from each side so that it is truly as flat as it can be, as we have shown in the image below. No creases or wrinkles as that will affect the measurement.
-Record the measurement for your shirt in either inches or centimeters.
-Compare the measurement to our size chart to determine the size to order, as follows:
1. Lets say that your measurement comes to 53cm / 20.6 inches across the half chest.
2. Allow 1cm tolerance for our size chart (the international standard for all clothing measurements). As an example, with the international tolerance included, our Medium shirt in the garment size chart below is 'allowed' to measure between 55 and 57cm, as the half chest measurement is 56cm.
3. For your shirt which measured 53cm / 20.6 inches, we would suggest that you order a Medium shirt. Should you prefer to wear your shirts more loose, then a Large may fit you too.

You may receive either the honeycomb or the micro-ripstop. There is no difference in the performance of the fabric between the two ripstop.

This stylish shirt has all the technical fabric benefits of our Rufiji™ shirts, but with added softness and our new honeycomb anti-insect ripstop. The honeycomb was designed and tested in-house by our team, is unique to The Safari Store, and offers unparalleled strength and comfort. It also adds to the styling of the shirts. Our latest BUGTech™ fabric has been engineered to be our softest, lightest fabric yet. Never has technical fabric felt so luxurious – and you will appreciate its feather-light, ultra-soft sensation - together with its anti-insect, sun protective, and wicking properties - when you’re exploring the bush on safari. The Everything Shirt comes in two safari-friendly colours which are complemented by a contrasting colour strip that runs with the buttons and on the inside of the collar. BUGTech™: it's in the fabric of who we are
Anti-insect clothing very rarely offers effective wicking properties, with the fabric trapping heat and sacrificing comfort for insect defence. This was one of the key issues we sought to avoid in developing our BUGTech™ range. We wanted our clients to enjoy the same features and comfort level they had come to expect from our MaraTech™ range with the added advantage of insect defence for their safaris, adventure travels, and outdoor experiences.

• As a result, BUGTech™ has been tested, refined, and re-tested on safari, but also in some rather extreme conditions on expedition around Africa. We are happy to report that the wicking properties of our fabric is unhindered by the anti-insect treatment.
• Apart from our in-house tests, we wanted to offer our clients the added assurance of independent tests. In tests conducted by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), BUGTech™ fabric was proven to offer defence against most biting insects. We are unaware of any other manufacturer willing to publish their results.
• The active ingredient in our BUGTech™ fabric is permethrin which is used at the ultra low dosage of 500ppm. Permethrin is a man-made version of a natural insect repellent found in certain Chrysanthemum plants. BUGTech™ utilises a proprietary permethrin formula to provide effective, odourless insect defence.
• BUGTech™ is effective against most biting insects.

The octagonal weave of the light honeycomb Ripstop fabric is strong and smooth to the touch with built-in UPF50+ to protect you from the sun. Creases from packing are quickly released and anti-bacterial technology keeps your shirt smelling fresh between washes. The material also dries quickly, keeping you on the go. The Mara&Meru™ BUGTech™ Everything Shirt has two styled chest pockets with button closure for easy access. It also has discreet sunglasses loops on the inside of the collar. This is included so you can hook your precious glasses on to your collar with a little added peace of mind.

A long-sleeved shirt is a safari essential. This shirt has a single roll-up sleeve tab on each sleeve to secure your rolled-up sleeves as the day heats up.

Say no to plastic packaging
Your Mara&Meru™ clothing is packaged in a recyclable paper bag. At The Safari Store, we are working hard to eliminate plastic from all of our packaging. ⊙ UPF50+: The Sun Protection Factor is a measure of the amount of the sun's ultraviolet rays that reach your skin. Our MaraTech™ fabric will protect your skin from harmful sun exposure - in effect, sunblock for your clothing. This is the highest SPF rating we know of on a garment.

True to size and feels great. The button holes are on the small side and is difficult to get the buttons through them. Also no sunglass loops inside collar as described in product information. The Safari Store reply: Thank you for your review. The sunglass loops are inside the placket and not the collar, where the buttons are attached.

It is worth noting too that the tight weave of our BUGTech™ (and SAFARITech fabric) has been shown to also offer a measure of protection against mosquitoes.
