Please read the instructions below this size chart before ordering. We have indicated whether this size chart uses body or garment measurements in the notes below the size chart. Allow 1cm variance for all garment measurements (as an example a 56cm garment measurement has a variance of 55-57cm. Please factor that into deciding on the size to order.)
To select cm (cm) or inches (in") please see the top left corner of the size chart table.
cm/ in" | S | M | L | XL | XXL | 3XL | 4XL |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1/2 Chest | 55.5 cm | 59.5 cm | 63.5 cm | 67.5 cm | 71.5 cm | 75.5 cm | 79.5 cm |
Sleeve Length Overarm | 70 cm | 71 cm | 72 cm | 73 cm | 74 cm | 75 cm | 76 cm |
Centre Back Length | 80 cm | 81 cm | 82 cm | 83 cm | 84 cm | 85 cm | 87 cm |
Three easy steps to ordering the right size:
STEP 1:
You will need the following items:
• Measuring tape
• A flat surface (such as a table or counter)
• A notepad and pen
• An item of clothing from your wardrobe that fits comfortably and is similar to the one you wish to purchase (e.g. if you are looking at buying a collared shirt then use one of your own collared shirts to compare measurements to.)
TIP: If you do not own a similar jacket, then using a collared long sleeve shirt which is a comfortable fit will give you an idea of the size which will fit you the best.
STEP 2:
Referring to the images above, place your garment on a flat surface and record the following measurements:
A. 1/2 Bust/Chest: Measure across the front of the shirt from armpit to armpit.
B. Sleeve Overarm: Measure from the end of the cuff to the shoulder seam.
C. Centre Back Length: Measure from the nape of the neck on the back of the shirt to the bottom hem.
STEP 3:
Compare your measurements with our size chart and order the size closest to those measurements. Chest/bust is usually the most important measurement if you are in a hurry, but checking all three will make for the most comfortable fit.
TIP: If you do not have a measuring tape, use your credit card. The long side of a credit card measures 8.5cm and the short side is 5.4cm. Simply use the centimetre measurements on our chart and divide by 8.5cm to get an idea of how many credit card lengths equals the measurement you are recording.
Please note: If you are unsure about which size to order, please contact us before ordering and we will help you as best we can.

Introduction:
This safari jacket offers modern features in a classic multi-pocket bush jacket design. In expedition and safari tested BUGTech™ anti-insect fabric, it’s also fleece-lined as a warm layer for Africa.
The safari jacket is one of the most iconic fashion items of all time. We have taken the classic design and incorporated BUGTech™ anti-insect technology and features and lined it in fleece for total practicality that retains its Out of Africa styling. The result is a made-for-purpose safari jacket you will wear on safari without giving a thought to style – and which is perfectly suited to all outdoor activities, adventure travels, and daily wear.
The outer layer is made from BUGTech™ fabric while the torso is lined with premium soft and luxuriant micro-fleece to warm your core. You will love the snug feeling whenever it gets cold in Africa – and, no matter the season, it probably will get chilly at times. The sleeves are made from double-layer BUGTech™.
Look suave both on game drives and at dinner and keep warm at the same time. In a full button-down design, the collar also has a buttoned tab so you can button your jacket right up to your chin when it gets very cold. It also has buttoned cuffs, two styled button chest pockets, and two styled hand pockets which are fleece-lined to warm your hands on the move.
The outer layer of this safari jacket is made from our latest BUGTech™ fabric. With micro-ripstop, this specially developed material is both lightweight and strong – with a soft hand feel for luxury. It also features lab-tested UPF50+ sun protection, an anti-microbial finish for freshness, and quick dry and wrinkle-release properties. This jacket is everything you need for travel and the outdoors.
When trying to pack light for safari and general travels, a warm layer is often the heaviest, bulkiest item in your suitcase. That is not the case with this safari jacket. This fleece-lined and warm jacket is compact and lightweight, making it the ideal solution for safari and minimalist travel.
BUGTech™: it's in the fabric of who we are
Anti-insect clothing very rarely offers effective wicking properties, with the fabric trapping heat and sacrificing comfort for insect defence. This was one of the key issues we sought to avoid in developing our BUGTech™ range. We wanted our clients to enjoy the same features and comfort level they had come to expect from our MaraTech™ range with the added advantage of insect defence for their safaris, adventure travels, and outdoor experiences.
• As a result, BUGTech™ has been tested, refined, and re-tested on safari, but also in some rather extreme conditions on expedition around Africa. We are happy to report that the wicking properties of our fabric is unhindered by the anti-insect treatment.
• Apart from our in-house tests, we wanted to offer our clients the added assurance of independent tests. In tests conducted by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), BUGTech™ fabric was proven to offer defence against most biting insects. We are unaware of any other manufacturer willing to publish their results.
• The active ingredient in our BUGTech™ fabric is permethrin which is used at the ultra low dosage of 500ppm. Permethrin is a man-made version of a natural insect repellent found in certain Chrysanthemum plants. BUGTech™ utilises a proprietary permethrin formula to provide effective, odourless insect defence.
• BUGTech™ is effective against most biting insects.
If you have any questions regarding BUGTech™ and the development of the fabric, please do not hesitate to contact us.
